I was both wincing and smiling while reading this, Naomi, and I love that you turned such a painful experience into an object lesson in community.

THIS is why They have worked so hard to prevent us from connecting in person, to supplant our innate inclination to help one another with fear of each other, and to sow division over superficialities instead of emphasizing our commonalities.

When we encounter one another face to face, we realize we are allies, not enemies, and that those who are working so diligently to divide us are our true enemies. The last thing They want is for us to unite against Them, let alone recognize we can live vibrant, beautiful lives without Them and their promises of safety through control.

Ah yes, reminder of Margaret Mead when asked about the "first evidence of civilization":

"She answered: a human thigh bone with a healed fracture found in an archaeological site 15,000 years old [....] Mead points out that for a person to survive a broken femur the individual had to have been cared for long enough for that bone to heal. Others must have provided shelter, protection, food and drink over an extended period of time for this kind of healing to be possible."
