I just want to comment about fermented foods. No one loves sauerkraut more than I do…But, I wonder if people are going to run into another problem by going nuts on this stuff. The purveyors of this are saying it’s full of lactobacillus sp. Yet Dr. Sabine Hazen, the gastroenterologist, talks about the lack of bifidobacteria seems to be a big problem…not to mention the fact that sources of lactobacillus like yogurt seem to not have much lactobacillus.
I remember my cousin’s husband diagnosed with stomach cancer was a sales rep in asia. Did he eat a lot of pickled fermented foods? Also, a friend and colleague of my husband in Japan had horrible stomach issues which his doctor attributed to eating pickled veggies.
Not saying of course that it’s the lactobacillus, rather the attribution that has been made is to the high salt content (I wonder because I think that good salt is probably good for you). I think we should also look at the fermented liquid itself….how this might affect the liver. Does H. pylori move in in this environment (salt or brine) ? I don’t know but I’m not sure we have the whole story here. Fermentation after all was done to preserve food so people wouldn’t starve, but is that natural?

One thing does seem to hold true: people who eat too little animal food, as in meat, have more problems of digestion, acid reflux, etc. Those who eat too little vegetable food and lots of meat, often have problems of bowel cancer, etc. From some sources I've looked into, there are many communities of bacteria in the gut. These have to be held in balance. There are some that live on ONLY meat, animal protein--if they don't get "fed" they are overcome by the ones that thrive on vegetable matter. A balanced diet will hold the two in harmony, that means quality meat, etc. and quality vegetable.
There's also the issue of sprayed, of glyphosate-laden foods, of antibiotics killing off the bacteria, of lack of focus on prebiotics--the fibrous foods etc. that help the gut bacteria produce the probiotics.
Fermentation is NATURAL. It is a naturally occurring phenomenon. Grapes ferment easily, they have what's needed in their skins to create fermentation--and wine is one of the oldest beverages since man was on the earth. Unpasteurized milk ferments, and makes "clabbered milk"--it's not sour, but it's on the way to cheese. I have some in my fridge right now! Pasteurized milk doesn't do this, it goes sour and kind of rotten, ugh!
Many natural foods have the capacity and propensity to ferment, and I believe it's kind of designed that way, to enable food preservation. Not everyone lives in a part of the world with year-round growing season! Most don't, actually. So it's natural, in the lives of human beings, squirrels, mice, to store foods and some of them that are easy to ferment make this possible. Again, I believe in a Creator, and this was designed to be so. Same as humans drinking milk or eating milk products from other species--we are in a different category than other creatures. Animals that were easy to domesticate were part of the plan I do believe!

Nixtamilization of corn is one example; otherwise, a diet high in cornmeal or polenta can result in problems, as they found out in Italy when corn was introduced, but without the knowledge of using wood ash to soak it and break down the husk--then the B vitamins etc are released. Quite amazing really.
If humans were totally natural, we wouldn't have books, cut our fingernails, etc! But I agree, we have stone-age bodies, and if we keep eating modern "junk" and ingesting toxins disguised as medicine, we will collapse eventually.

So is it the smoked foods, pickles, etc. that are irritating their upper GI system more than other groups, b/c they are genetically susceptible. In that case, salt, pickles, hot spicy foods etc. would not be showing the same problems in others--not to the same degree.
What about vinegar as well? In quantity, it certainly can be an irritant. Sushi relies on a lot of vinegar, and the Japanese are very very fond of all types of sushi. I like it too, but I don't eat sushi every week, let alone many times per week.

I'm not sure we can draw any conclusions, but I don't see that eating fermented foods is an issue for most of us who eat them. Fermented including kefir, yogurt, sauerkraut, pressed pickles, etc. There seem to be many positive health effects from including those foods.
Moderation may be key in all of it, I suspect, as it usually is!

I also think it’s hard to draw any conclusions…but I think it should be studied more. If you look up stomach cancer incidence, it is also China and other southeastern asian countries. Not that it’s a big data point but my cousin’s husband, who appeared to not have a bit of asian ancestry, and worked in asia countries, also got stomach cancer.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) was requiring the farmers to decontaminate their farm vehicle each time they exited the ostrich pens. None of us who were supporting these farmers and variously shook hands, or hugged them, got sick with avian flu.
The World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH) outlines in their Terrestrial Animal Health Code from 2024 a section on ratites. They state ratites (ostriches, emus, and rheas) are not poultry. WOAH recommends quarantine for 21 days if there is an outbreak of avian flu. Article 10.4.29 states "culling" is a "last resort" and only infected birds. Not the whole flock. If a slaughter of infected ratites (including ostriches) is to occur, it must happen with either gas or "captive bolt" (the ostrich farmers have discussed the humane way to kill an ostrich is put a hood on it to calm the bird down, and then a shot to the skull so it dies instantly). Gunfire pens are specifically prohibited in the WOAH code.
The farmers know that in addition to the 1000 rounds of ammunition aimed at the ostriches for over six hours, the ostriches were crying through the night. Because of their tough exterior, the bullets wounded but in many cases did not kill the birds. And numbers of them had their necks chopped, a gruesome sight from the photos Chris Dacey and others have been posting.
And now, defenders of the CFIA action are claiming the government always knew they didn't have to kill the ostriches. Staff were told a portion of the pets had to be culled due to avian flu infection. The staff were allowed to humanely euthanize the select pets themselves. After CFIAs visit, the animal rescue outfit continued to care for their healthy animals. This was never an option for the ostrich farmers, who were prevented from feeding, watering, and caring for these birds they had taken care of for up to 35 years.
After the carnage at the Universal Ostrich Farm was complete, there was blood-soaked hay from the kill pen where the ostriches were slaughtered. However, the hay (presumably a biohazard) miraculously required no PPE on the part of CFIA or RCMP who were gathering it up with their bare hands.

Truthfully, I have been heartsick about this whole situation. The view of the kinds of people who occupy these agencies reflects their view of ordinary people (which I guess I should know by now given expansion of MAID in Canada, and the whole C-19 coercion and statistical manipulation of the data when our health agencies aimed to portray 'the unvaccinated' as a clear and present danger to society). There are so many details in this story that leave me and countless others with deeply broken hearts. deeply entrenched post traumatic shock - and maybe even shattered spirits and broken souls.
This morning, I learned of one ostrich body having to be extricated by forklift from between hay bales because it had buried itself there in sheer terror for its life, and for having witnessed the suffering and slaughter of friends and family - over a period of at least six hours.
They were all starved, deprived of water, and tortured for weeks before they were gunned down - nada, zero, no humane measures taken. Quite the opposite: maximal cruelty.

Truthfully, I have been heartsick about this whole situation. The view of the kinds of people who occupy these agencies reflects their view of ordinary people (which I guess I should know by now given expansion of MAID in Canada, and the whole C-19 coercion and statistical manipulation of the data when our health agencies aimed to portray 'the unvaccinated' as a clear and present danger to society). The slaughter of the ostriches was something they both wanted to conceal in the dark of night, but make plain in the light of day in the aftermath, to send a message to the public and to small farmers everywhere.
I think it is a sign of grace that Dr. Naomi Wolf and others outside of Canada are pointing to what has occurred at this ostrich farm in Edgewood, British Columbia. Maybe even a sign of God at work in the world.

There are so many details in this story that leave me and countless others with deeply broken hearts. deeply entrenched post traumatic shock - and maybe even shattered spirits and broken souls.
This morning, I learned of one ostrich body having to be extricated by forklift from between hay bales because it had buried itself there in sheer terror for its life, and for having witnessed the suffering and slaughter of friends and family - over a period of at least six hours.
They were all starved, deprived of water, and tortured for weeks before they were gunned down - nada, zero, no humane measures taken. Quite the opposite: maximal cruelty.
H5N1 is, like covid 19, a complete fabrication. It is shock/fear/terror/captivity that make all sentient beings sick. I am - or have been until now - exceptionally fit and healthy. But I know deep within myself that I will not recover from what the ostriches and their human family have been through.
Tell me: how can one live where such a thing can happen? HOW?

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency, an arm of the Canadian Federal Government, along with the RCMP and regional 'authorities' literally surrounded and took over that farm and a neighboring one within days. They psychologically TORMENTED the owners for months putting them through the hellish court system exhausting their recources. The CFIA and government had NO INTENTION of letting the owners return to their daily lives, yet played out this evil game until the end. Those ostriches had developed HERD IMMUNITY and thus could've eradicated the Avian Flu, BUT the WHO GLOBALISTS have been priming for another plandemic and have been ramping up their campaign for another outbreak and the AVIAN FLU is the target. Therefore, in no way were they going to stop the SLAUGHTERING of these ostriches. By dragging in virologists who are heavily funded government shills, that never set foot on that farm and having them speak with the Federally funded mainstream media to sway public opinion, the outcome was clearly planned. The CFIA left the deceased ostriches lying in the open fields to DEMORALIZE the farm owners, protesters and supporters as a show of POWER. The government has destroyed the farm, their livelihoods and tried to rob them of their dignity by publicly shaming them AND their supporters. The methodology used to acquire their property was a path leading to communism. Our country is in serious trouble, yet many are either unaware or unwilling to entertain researching the TRUTH of the dangerous precedent being set behind the scenes of the WEF GLOBALISTS who took over Canada in 2015.

Kati the property owner and the owner of the ostriches could hear the gunshots killing each of her animals throughout the night. Imagine a government coming onto your property setting up a killing pen and you are forced to sit by and listen to your animals be shot one by one. This sounds like a historical story of an out of control tyrannical government killing a persons livestock because they can. It is the perfect example of absolute power corrupts absolutely.

I agree with you Tony. I point out the left because it seems they have aligned themselves with this evil. When I talk to them they are ok with assassination, murder, putting people in camps, censoring people, putting pressure on people with threats to keep their mouths shut. I’m not saying there aren’t any on the right that are violent but the vast majority are democrats. Charlie Kirk is an example, President Trump nearly bot his head blown off. I think we have to recognize where this is coming from. It won’t be fixed, if it even can be fixed, with blanket statements or ignoring it. Just my opinion.
