When I fear that I am in a silo and I am the crazy one, you, Matt Taibbi, and Michael Shellenberger reassure me that I am not. Your interaction with the local council is the same as mine in SoCal. There is nothing about infrastructure, creating a biz friendly atmosphere, or the assurance that kids in school can compete in the new economy. Everything is about services to the illegal immigrants, transgender rights, homelessness, etc. I recently heard a City Attorney go on an unhinged rant against the Trump administration and how she was going to fight them. I've seen nothing from the City Attorney's office about possible criminal investigations into the devastating fires in January, as to their cause, or as to foreign entities scooping up property on the cheap. For a year, I volunteered at a homeless shelter and would see people with their ubiquitous clipboards seeking to sign up new clients. I call it the financialization of suffering. And like any business model, the goal is always to increase the number of customers. My dad was a professor of social work. Twenty years ago, NPR ran a segment advocating for better pay for those who ran non-profits. Knowing my dad was poorly paid, I thought it sounded like a good idea. Looking back, I realized that let the wolf in the door, feeding off the vulnerable for financial gain.

Dr. Naomi, your talk to the DJT Kings' Country Republican Club in Brooklyn was inspired and brilliant. You give encouragement and hope that through the focused and concerted actions of people who care, the DNC machine and it's agenda can be thwarted and sanity in public policy can be restored to NYC and Brooklyn.
