I saw a suggestion, apparently from both Hebrew and early Christian sources, that Asenath might be a daughter of Dinah and adopted by the priest of On. I notice one of her grandsons was named Shechem.

Thank you for this reading. I was thinking of Esau growing up full of energy and fire with neither birthright or blessing. When did Esau’s children come? Before or after this moment when Jacob, fresh from his encounter with God, blesses his twin? The ‘blessing’ Esau had from his father was closer to a curse. After getting Jacob’s blessing Esau has some prosperous and fruitful years alongside his brother in Canaan but he can’t be at peace. His nature is too restless. If he hadn’t left for Seir when he did, Esau would have inherited Canaan after Jacob took off to Egypt to meet Joseph.

We are SO enjoying and appreciating your readings, Naomi! How can we know ahead of time when you are going live so we can watch live? We get the email from Substack after-the-fact... We also are not able to figure out how to watch archived videos...

Thanks Naomi. Still following! The Old Testament in my opinion ... my gut feeling, perhaps my ancient microbiome speaking to me ... offers a certain universality and wisdom as a reduction of thousands of years of history. Apologies to my third grade teacher who read to us every day (activists who hear that may require first responders) but she did not convert me to anything in particular except for interest in scriptures if I can find someone to pick up where she left off! As a crazy workaholic engineer I had all this running in background in my fried brain for decades like some sort of “app” until the day of COVID mandate retirement should arrive. Here we are. Now I want to know about some of the wisdom that infused our Founding Fathers (I had an excellent course in the Constitution in 8th grade) and convinced them that Americans could be more than little gears in the machinery of the Monarchy and Oligarchy in any given age. There is no doubt the scriptures had something to do with that. May my perceptions catch up with theirs a bit. Look at what a pathetic mess England has become! They don’t admit they lost the colonies: they want us back. No thank you! I loved “Downton Abbey” but told PBS to take a hike. The Brits forget we have a written Constitution inspired by tyranny and promising to keep it at bay as long as we pay attention. Thank you City of London for your remote control of Joe Biden and Anthony Fauci, reminding us what tyranny is about. England, Canada, Australia, New Zealand! No written Constitution! A vast “woke” house of horrors. Our next move must be a Constitutional Amendment addressing health freedom for all perpetuity. BenjaminRush warned us! Let’s do it. Your reading of the Old Testament is part of the picture as far as I am concerned ! Thanks Naomi. You are a patriot, an accomplished scholar and beautiful. As they say, you kept getting back in line when gifts were handed out.

Thanks for continuing on with your reading of the Geneva Bible. I'm feeling spiritualy nourished as we go through this Bible. It's helping a lot during these crazy times.

We can't see you if we're on Substack, and that's OK, we can hear you and your voice is comforting. Maybe over at dailyclout they can see you, but I follow along here at Substack.

....for I have seen your face as if I've seen the face of God.... this makes me cry every time I've heard this story. I'm so touched and grateful for your effort to share this with us. You have a mighty mission and these words must be such a comfort to you Dr Naomi.

Edith Stein was a teacher and convert who became St. Teresa Benedict Of The Cross . She was martyred by the Nazis because of her Jewish heritage.

She wrote "Anyone who honestly and persistently searches for Truth is on the way to Christ." I think that this applies to you! Thank you for

sharing your journey with us. God bless you!
