I have a few thoughts so far. One is about saving the children from the non-Jewish orphanages. It is wonderful to place an orphan in a loving home and what a brave, great man Rabbi Friedman was. One might argue that he partnered with the orphanage in saving the children. They presumably did what they could to shelter, feed and clothe the children at a time of great need. Their next big need was a family.

The mindset of officialdom is still very closed. It is painful to see so many around us dying of cancer and a possible treatment being rejected, untried.
Another I wonder…. Rabbi Freidman speaks of his family moving o the US and settling in New York. He spoke of integration into a very different culture. I was asked by a new immigrant, “how do I integrate into kiwi culture?” I found the question very difficult to answer because our lovely government has been importing people from massively different backgrounds. This particular man happened to be a Muslim man from Afghanistan. I value his honesty and I have seen he is kind and loves his little daughter. I wonder what the rabbi would advise. Most Christians I know haven't figured out the first 3 chapters in Genesis let alone the rest of the damn book and its 4750 versions of interpretation. The palimpsests arranged much of it if you know who they were. No one has any idea of what the original books contained and all we have is the watered down versions before Guttenberg invented the printing press around 1440 and even then, the Jesuits had poisoned the facts. No hard feelings, but every comment above I responded to failed the course and not one except Rachael made mush sense. Re-read them and the references before blindly throwing subjective whims and wishful thinking as your defenses against the unknown forces of matter and energy.
