Hello Naomi. Thanks for your meticulous investigating / reporting. I want to provoke a thought process that appears to have been left out of the discussion. Namely, another plausible secondary goal of the assassination attempt could be a massive and deadly “stampede” reaction within the spectators.
If you look at the history of Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union they were also half "Hogan's heroes" and "Death of Stalin." But that doesn't make them harmless. Incredible wickedness can coexist with both competence and absurdity simultaneously.
