I just made my first batch of tallow face/body cream! I used more Lavender than you mentioned and now it smells pretty good. I got some on my lips and noticed immediately that it soaked in and my lips feel so much better! In only 5 minutes! I have discovered that my hands and lips let me know when the seasons are starting to change. It is August 16 here in eastern PA near Philly and already my cuticles and my lips are very dry. We are going to have an early fall. Hopefully this tallow cream will help my 78 yr old skin weather the weather! THANK YOU, DR. WOLF!

Thank you for this education. I just made my own and love it! Look forward to cooking with Tallow too. Tallow is a healthy fat, it and coconut oil. Unreal the powers that be now want to make synthetic fats. For them, seed oil wasn't destructive enough to the masses.

I love the idea of tallow and tried it but my skin was irritated after about a month of use. I follow Joette Calabrese a homeopath and she uses tallow, lard and even unsalted butter - all from farmers who are wise in their practices. Right now I use a mix of olive oil and beeswax.

Dr. Wolfe! I made my face cream today. It took a while for the tallow to get here, and it was warm, so I cooled it in the fridge for a little while. I used rosehip oil as my carrier oil (I did a little reading about which carrier oil would be best for my skin type) and enough lavender oil for a noticeable scent. I tried it out on my arm while I was making it, and my arm is still soft. And my face is very silky smooth. I'm excited to use it and it's so neat that I made it myself. Thank you, thank you for this wonderful recipe! Yes, I may sound over the top silly, but I don't care. I really do love it.

I think you previously recommended beef tallow for cooking as a replacement for oil. We bought Wagu Beef Tallow on Amazon and it adds an incredibly great flavor for steaks and veggies. We LOVE it!

A story line is being missed on the Biden dementia issue. All writers are focused on his illness that we all knew about three years ago. But, my view is, why is there no writers focusing on the fact that the Democrat Party does not have any strong political personality who can step forward and stop this sh*t show and replace Biden both legally and with our national safety being protected.

Tallow is easy to make. If you make your own bone broth, skim off the fat from the top after it hardens, boil it in a pot with some water, cool, put in a jar with a tight fitting lid, turn the jar upside down and refrigerate until hardened - the water will separate and rise to the top. Discard the water and you have lovely tallow - and it has no smell (unlike the commercial tallow). you can likely make chicken schmaltz the same way... Try other organic oils rather than almond oil.

Recommendation in best cuts of meat to make the bone broth?

I use beef bones - neck bones, marrow bones, with some meat and gristle on them. Add a shot of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar to leach out the mineral from the bones. Let simmer for 24 to 48 hours a slow cooker. Eat off the bits of meat and the marrow before tossing the bones. And, not necessary, but I add a carrot, onion, dried dandelion, dried burdock root, and sometimes astragalus. I put the dried herbs in a disposable tea bag and toss when done.

I am a carnivore and have the bones in my freezer. When I make the bone broth, do the carrots, onions, etc., add anything other than flavoring? Or could I just leave it out?

The vegetables add nutrition - not sure about the flavoring as the broth is yummy on its own :-)

This fantastic. Thank you, Naomi. I will sometimes use just allow as a moisturizer. And we use Fatworks diaper cream for our baby. Similar, but with coconut oil, zinc and no fragrance.

Not being a woman and not too concerned about my skin. I still remember the story told to me by a rock climbing girl.

She climbed in Yosemite during the height of Yosemite becoming the Mecca of rock climbing.

She put on skin cream before retiring to her tent. She woke up in the early hours because she felt something licking her face.

IT WAS BEAR! She screamed the bear screamed and they both ran as fast as they could in opposit directions.

If you want to watch the ultimate rock climbing adventure watch the movie about Alex Honnold sumitting El Capitan in Yosemite.

Sounds good I would not put any Polyunsaturated fat like almond oil on my face - better to use Olive oil - me thinks

The Tallowed Truth (https://thetallowedtruth.com/) makes an amazing product called F-Balm, with the letter "F" standing for Freedom. This is made by a freedom-loving Canadian entrepreneur and is fantastic. Smells great and goes on beautifully. I started with one tin and now purchase it in bulk batches of 10. Use it on my face and body.
